Billing Cycles & Procedures

Billing Schedule:

• Billing cycles are from approximately the 20th of the month depending on the meter reading schedule.
• Utility bills are mailed out on or about the last day of the month and are due by the 15th of each month. Payments made after the 15th are subject to a $10.00 late fee.
• Late notices are mailed out on the 16th of each month and payments must be made before the 25th of each month to avoid disconnection.
• Disconnects are performed on the 25th of each month.  If service is disconnected or an attempt is made to disconnect there will be a $50.00 service fee assessed to the account.

The dates listed above are subject to change depending on weekends, holidays, or any unforeseen circumstances.

Transferring or Discontinuing Service:

• To transfer service from one residence to another within the City of Melissa, there is a Utility Transfer/Discontinuance form that needs to be completed and returned to the City of Melissa.  You will also need to provide a valid ID.
• To discontinue service there is a Utility Transfer/Discontinuance form that needs to be completed and returned to the City of Melissa.  You will need to provide a valid ID.

**PLEASE NOTE:
Once service had been disconnected and the account finalized the customer's deposit will be applied to the final bill and a refund or a bill will be sent out for the balance.
